However, I did received the following error messages:
When I tested the first model on the list I received the following message as the mission initiated: Cannot Load Texture trh_ch1\data\chally_optica.paa
When I tested the Mk11 Dozer, I received the following message as the mission initiated: Cannot Open Object trh_chr1\optica_tank_loader1.p3d
i dont know it it is just me but almost half of the tanks dont work and dive me an error message about missing crewmen. also i am not able to use free look. other than that the tanks that do work are great
Yes sorry about that, it should state that you will also need the BAOR crewmen AddOn with the Chieftain as well, this can be found under Operation Arrowhead/addons/units. The free look is only an issue if your crew is closed down, open up and it works fine, why it does this is at the preent time beyond me Im afraid.
This model has a dependency error that prevents it's use completely.
Warning Message: Addon 'TRH_CHF' requires addon 'CATRH_CTT'
and yes trh_ctt.pbo is loaded also.
Sorry not to sure on this one hawchcf1, I get various issues reported as you can see above, but never had this one, anyone else have any ideas to help hawchcf1 out ?
Ok, finally made an account. Trouble, first off; despite some of dodgy textures here and there, I have absolutely loved all of your mods. I think your dedication to BAOR is fantastic, certainly a niche (as no one else can be bothered to make British vehicles, even P85 left me with only the mighty Defender to drive.)
Now the minor things (such as the warrior sights being blocked by a green bar at a certain elevation) I can deal with, not a problem. However, I have to keep loading your mods on and then off when I want to do other stuff, as something with them makes my helicopters have commanders, disables my ability to use 'manual fire' and gives me a list of "open door". I was just wondering if you had any idea why this could be, as I'd much prefer to have all of your mods on 24/7, because without a shadow of a doubt, they are my favourite mods on this glorious site! (By a country mile)
Ollie, many thanks for the thumbs up for the BAOR line up, I am constantly trying to learn & improve the models, hopefully the textures are slowly getting there . . . ! ! The other points are valid & do need addressing, configs are a weak area for me, however Konyo, who recently released the Bravo November Chinook, has hold of my gazelle & scout to incorporate into the P82 Falklands mod & may be able to eliminate some of the errors you mentioned, i.e. the doors etc . . . the Warriors issue can be rectified easy enough by myself. Anyhow stick with the BAOR, we will get there in the end.
Cheers
Trouble
Not a problem, I have noticed that the Warrior's gun issue is now on the Chieftain, but only at high gun elevation, hasn't really affected my gameplay, and yesterday I put the crewmen and new Chieftain in by themselves and they have not caused the helicopters to all have commanders and multiple 'open door' choices in the menu, and I can still switch to manual fire!!!
I shall try putting the Challenger 1 and 2 on next, one at a time and see if we can keep this rolling, if any make that error come up, I shall take the mod off and continue with the other BAOR lineup. At the end, I shall PM you the files which are causing the error, as it is the only bad error (for me anyway) as it means loading and unloading BAOR, whereas I'd much rather whack them on and leave them there.
Improvements I'm sure will always be made (as with any mods), but at the moment we have the basics to something very special (I say we, as the consumer, obviously I've played no part in their creation)
Having written a review on the Challenger 2 for Arma 2, and commending it on using genuine Chally sights, whether that could be something changable in your Challenger 2, which I also have. Of course I appreciate these things are complicated and time consuming and I wouldn't know where to start if I were in your shoes; but if you were to update the Challenger models, a change of sights would give it a totally different feel! Also, I'm not sure how difficult this would be, but a TES (theatre entry standard) model would be absolutely insane.
However there is already a fantastic Challenger 2 model out on Arma 2, it looks as though he may have used the model from VBS lite, and I really would encourage you to stick, for the moment to the Cold War era stuff like Chieftain and Chally, as that is where your niche truly lies at the moment. Maybe future helis could include the Westland Wessex and Seaking?
What can I say? It all takes me back to my childhood of being based with BAOR in Rhinedaland, beautiful memories of the Army when it was in better shape...I'm joining myself, but the regiment that will most likely take me after Sandhurst (the KRH) is based in Tidworth which is a far cry from that fantastic German landscape! (though Salisbury plain isn't too bad)
Like I said, there is room for some aesthetic improvements here and there, but on the whole the mods are functional, fun and most importantly BRITISH! Thanks man.
Ive been knocking the author a bit over some of the minor glitches over his Centurion and Chieftan.
- 100% use of the M256 cannon where the 105mm L7 should be used instead
- gunner insisting on firing M240 rounds at armour
- commander cupola's not rotating
- eardrum shredding engine FX (I had to quit playing the Centurion even after just 2 minutes it was so painful!)
- weak/average textures, with many small glitchy areas
- muzzle flashes not quite aligned with gun barrels
- no freelook on external views
- causes some bizarre "missing config.bin entry" errors.... I had one saying "missing confing.bin/hooker1.bonel" (or something like that - totally WTF?) come up!
The Challenger1/2s are better than the Chieftan/Centurion packs - but still, only a 2 star "fair" rating IMO
Excellent work. No flashing textures!!

When I tested the Mk11 Dozer, I received the following message as the mission initiated:
Cannot Open Object trh_chr1\optica_tank_loader1.p3d
...and cheers again! Brilliant!

Any Idea why I have no sound with the chieftain?

BTW - be glad your not getting the same treatment as Sled88 is getting over his "Conspiracies" series!
